My Dearest Friend,
I just had to send you this letter today to tell you how much I love you and care for you. I observed you yesterday as you were talking to your friend. I waited all day hoping you would want to talk with me. As evening came, I gave you a beautiful sunset to close your day and a gentle breeze to soothe your mind and I waited. You never came. Sure, it hurts me, but I still love you because I am your closest friend.
I watched you as you fell asleep last night and I longed to touch your face and wrap my arms around you. Again, I waited, wanting to rush down so we could talk. I have so much to share with you. In the morning, you got up late and rushed out without thinking of me. My tears were in the rain.
Today you looked so sad…so all alone. It makes my heart ache because I understand. Life is hard and too often your friends and loved ones let you down. Mine disappointed me many times too, but I love you and will never forsake you.
I wish you knew how much I love you! If you would just look around. I try to tell you in the clear blue sky and in the soft green grass. I whisper it in the leaves of the trees, and in the fragrance of the flowers. I shout it to you in the breaking of the ocean’s waves and in the storms with their pounding rain, lightning strikes and thunderous booms. I send the birds with their love songs to cheer you. I clothe you with warm sunshine and sweeten the breeze with nature’s aroma. At the end of the day, I send you a stunning sunset of bright oranges, yellows and blues. In the coolness of the night, I give you a peaceful sky with the moon and the stars to guide you in the darkness. The night creatures, crickets, frogs and owls, fill your ears with their calming concert and lull you to sleep. At the break of day, I gently wake you with a rooster’s crow, the call of a mockingbird, or the distant bark of a dog. All to remind you of my love for you.
My Father and I created this wonderous world for your enjoyment, but it cannot compare to the awesome beauty that awaits you in your heavenly home. I want you to spend eternity with me here, and I especially want you to meet my Abba. He cares for you too, and wants to see you happy. That is His way, you will learn.
My love for you is deeper than the ocean and stronger than the greatest need or desire of your heart. If you only knew how much I want to walk and talk with you. I know how challenging life is on this earth. Believe me, I know! And I want to help you deal with every problem and worry. In your despair, just call on me - ask me for anything - talk with me, I will listen! Please don't forget me! I have so many blessings to share with you!
Alright, okay, I won't bother you anymore. You are free to choose me. It's your decision. I have chosen you, and because of that I will wait, and wait, and wait, because I love you like no other.
